A journeyman is a tradesman who has completed their apprenticeship, but not yet settled down and established themselves. Counted as the fourth stage of a person's life, an individual is generally expected to be a journeyman between the ages of eighteen and twenty-four, though longer or shorter apprenticeships may modify that. During this time a person should be finding a spouse, settling down, establishing himself in his business, etc. Once that is complete they may be eligible to be qualified as a master in their craft, though some guilds require testing for proficiency to achieve this.
